Sweet Potato Chips



like  LOVE basically anything “sweet potato.” Not the orange American Yams (Got nothing against America, am an American citizen), but the Korean/Asian Yellow Sweet Potatoes. They are the best! Baked, dehydrated, roasted, boiled, steamed, mashed, and the list goes on! (not really, I just ran out of adjectives). But, I mean the simplest would be Roasting it, and when that honey drips and gushes out, oh how amazing! Mashed, just makes it taste so good. Mixed with other ingredients how amazing! Place it other dishes yum! I love sweet potato chips too! But why buy an expensive bag of those that have all those additives and sodium when you can really do it yourself in a healthier and easier manner? Here’s a simple recipe 🙂


You will need:

– An Oven or a Conventional Oven

– Aluminum Foil

– Napkin or Paper Towels optional

– Sweet Potatoes

– Oil (either spray or liquid. I used Grapeseed Oil because that’s what I had at the moment)

– Salt or Honey or anything else you wish optional


  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit on Bake
  2. Slice the Sweet Potatoes into thin slices. The thinner it is, the faster it will cook and the crispier it will be. The thicker, it may be mushy and soft on the inside which is delicious as well. I recomment about 1/8 of an inch to 1/6 of an inch slices
  3. Place the slices onto a Dry Paper Towel or Napkin so that it can soak up some of the water from the Sweet Potato Slices
  4. Coat the aluminum foil sheet (that’s in your baking pan) with your oil
  5. Place the slices onto the foil and drizzle or spray oil on top
  6. Place the pan into the oven and set the timer to 10-15 minutes (check on the crisps at around 10 minutes)
  7. After 15 minutes, check on the slices by turning one over to see if that’s the kind of crisp you want. If not, leave it in the oven for a few more minutes
  8. If it is the right texture for you, flip the slices over and bake for another 5-10 minutes (less or more depending on how you want it and on how crispy it became after the first 10-15 minutes
  9. Take it out to cool and enjoy~
